Ko Thet Win Aung, 35, a prominent student activist who played a role at Burma’s anti-military demonstrations of 1988, died in Mandalay prison after serving seven out of a 59-year jail sentence. He died on October 16, 2006 in Mandalay prison in central Burma.

A funeral was held at a Mandalay Cemetery, where about 400 people came and paid their final respects. Members of the international community have expressed their outrage over the Death in custody of Ko Thet Win Aung imprisoned by Burma’s ruling junta since 1998. We lost one more comrade again in the hands of Burmese military regime. In the 1988 pro-democracy demonstrations, that eventually lead to a brutal military crackdown that left thousands dead, Ko Thet Win Aung was a leader of the Basic High School Union, one of scores of student groups involved in the protests.

Check DVB pictures and see the difference between two faces b/w young energitic TWA and beaten swollen tortured TWA.

This is outrageous! This is inhumane. JUNTA will have to pay back their bloody hands.

Dear Ah Ko Thet Win Aung,
I went to monestary yesterday for you. I donated $45 for the blind children inside Burma for you. I would like you to know our love whereever you are. I feel ashamed that I did not know you before you die.

I will make sure I know every hero like you from now on before they die.

Wouldn't it be nice to have international or all the attentions you could get before you die? Yes, it would.
